About Gazdar Group
Gazdar Group is a family-led business with a heritage rooted in construction, craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
Its journey stretches from the architectural traditions of Rajasthan to the rapidly evolving landscape of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
Over generations, the Gazdar name has evolved from traditional craftsmanship into marble and stone contracting, civil construction, property development and diversified business ventures.
Yet the underlying philosophy has remained remarkably consistent:

Our Origins
The Beginning of the Gazdar Story
The Gazdar family's roots can be traced to Jodhpur, Rajasthan, where its ancestors belonged to a community traditionally known as Silawat, associated with construction and stone craftsmanship.
According to the family's recorded history, their expertise included work connected with palaces, forts, royal residences and other architectural structures.
The family's historical account also associates the title "Gazdar" with the period of Maharaja Umaid Singhji of Jodhpur and the construction of Umaid Bhawan Palace. The name is described as referring to an L-shaped measuring scale traditionally used in construction, representing accuracy and craftsmanship.
That symbolism remains highly relevant today.
The Mumbai Chapter
A Heritage Becomes an Enterprise
During the early 1940s, Abdul Mannan Gazdar migrated to Mumbai, carrying forward the family's construction tradition.
He later established A. M. Gazdar & Company, developing activities across marble contracting, civil work, marble processing, polishing, trading and related craftsmanship.
A marble facility was also established on approximately two acres of land, providing the business with capabilities across processing and trading.
Over time, the organisation's work became associated with several important projects across Mumbai.
This period established the commercial foundation upon which future generations would build.
A New Generation
From Contracting to Development
In the early 2000s, Hashir Gazdar assumed leadership of the business.
Under his leadership, the Group expanded into building development and construction, including rehabilitation-based development projects, and subsequently undertook residential and commercial developments across urban and suburban locations.
